The cost of energy is out of control as current LNG supplies dwindle and too much of our existing grid relies primarily on a single energy source that can too easily be brought off-line.

Kicking the can 10 years down the road is not an option. My energy policy will:

• Reduce energy costs for everyone, whether on the Rail Belt or in the most remote villages, through forward-looking diversification. 

• Not limit incentives to fossil fuels. Wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal are all rapidly reaching cost parity with fossil fuels and can be brought online much faster than, for example, an LNG pipeline. I support incentivizing renewable energy projects.

• Favor transparently negotiated tax incentives, grants, and bonds to get us moving on much needed but currently unfunded or underfunded transmission infrastructure.
