Long Form

The spiraling cost of living is neither an accident nor inevitable. It is the product of laws and policies created by those with power and wealth, including within our own Great State.

Public education provides opportunity
and a better society.

Revitalization of Alaska’s public education system is foundational to a brighter future for our state. A quality education costs money; not educating our kids well will cost a lot more in the long run.

Public Education

So many Alaskans depend on their PFD just to get by that it is a moral imperative.

However, if we follow the old formula, the Permanent Fund will be temporary and gone within a lifetime. It is time to end the annual ritual of spending most of the legislative session each spring haggling over PFD amounts that don't comply with existing law anyway. It time to update the law to codify the PFD at about current levels each year, adjusting for inflation as we go.

Together, we can develop a vibrant, strong economy that works for the people.

A strong Alaska economy should work for the people by keeping our natural wealth and investment local, supporting small businesses, and respecting the value of working Alaskans. I support a forward-looking energy strategy alongside investments in housing, food production, and transportation that strengthen communities across the state.

Write a short blurb about an issue your campaign is highlighting. Try to keep the text a similar size between the various issue blurbs.

Affordability and Economic Opportunity

The cost of energy is out of control and drives the cost of everything else up with it.

We need more energy, cheaper energy, and reliable energy not only in 10 years, but now. Wind, solar, hydro, tidal, and geothermal are all rapidly reaching cost parity with fossil fuels, can be brought online much more quickly and are under-represented in our state’s search for energy. Those solutions should be as much a part of the discussion as future pipelines.

For your lights to turn on when you flip the switch, power transmission is as important as generation. We need to fund projects like the Cook Inlet PowerLink Project.

A Diversified Energy System

Dr Pete is excited to announce that the campaign's first national endorsement in his run for Alaska Senate District O is from VoteVets .

Moratorium on AI Data Centers

Health Care for every Alaskan.
I support guaranteed access to quality health care for everyone in Alaska regardless of where they live or their ability to pay.

Health Care for Every Alaskan

Bauer’s launch centers on lowering costs including energy, improving access to health care, and revitalizing Alaska’s educational system.
